Tessitura Monti have been producing fabrics in Italy since 1911. Today they are renowned as a premium supplier to leading luxury brands around the world. Their ‘Dogi il pronto’ fabrics are judged to be some of the finest on the planet. All fabrics are two-fold premium Egyptian cotton, woven in Italy, with an average thread count of 100+.

Our entire range of double-twisted shirting fabrics are also easy to iron due to them containing the renowned Monti ‘special finish’, a secret ingredient that ensures a clean and starched look that lasts all day.

'Bikini'
Bikini is a 2 ply leno weave used in conjunction with a plain poplin. It gives the effect of a slightly open weave which in this case creates a light cross stitch running parallel down the fabric. Shirts made from the Bikini range are medium in weight fabrics making them more wrinkle resistant. They require standard ironing effort.

'Castiglia'
Castiglia is a compact 100/2 ply poplin. Poplin is one of the most common weaving constructions for shirting fabric. It is a 2 ply plain weave made by weaving one weft (horizontal) yarn over and under each warp (vertical) yarn. It is of a light weight and requires standard ironing effort.

'Elite'
Intricate textures in this yarn dyed 2 ply weave make up our Elite fabric. It is a more delicate and finer twill which is created when one or more warp (vertical) threads alternately weave over and under two or more weft (horizontal) threads in a regular repeated manner. This produces the visual effect of a straight or broken diagonal ‘rib’ to the fabric. These fabrics are light in weight and more wrinkle resistant than plain weaves, they require standard ironing effort. 

'Giorgia'
Giorgia is a 2 ply textured yarn dye. The construction of this fabric gives the design depth and richness. It is a heavier cloth of medium weight and more wrinkle resistant than plain weaves. It is also more durable and requires standard ironing effort.

'Modena'
Modena is a 2 ply warp and weft piece dyed twill. The warp (vertical) and weft (horizontal) threads are constructed in a way that creates diagonal parallel ribs. The threads are pulled tightly to create a tighter more compact weave. It is a practical article for the hard wearing character that also needs to look professional and smart all day long. Modena fabrics are medium-heavy in weight and require standard ironing effort.

'Napoli'
Napoli is a 2 ply fine yarn dye. It is a rich medium weight fabric which breathes an elegant bespoke from Naples. It requires standard ironing effort.

'Naxos'
Naxos is a compact dyed 2 ply twill. The warp (vertical) and weft (horizontal) threads are constructed in a way that creates diagonal parallel ribs. The threads are pulled tightly to create a tighter and more compact weave. These fabrics are more wrinkle resistant than plain weaves and are also more durable. It is very similar in construction to the Planet collection making it medium-heavy in weight. It requires a standard ironing effort.

'Lambro' (The Fashion Poplin)
Lambro is an 80/2 ply poplin compact with a unique special finish creating an incredibly smooth and crisp final result. It is light in weight and requires standard ironing effort. It is currently being used by many leading fashion houses worldwide.

'Planet'
Planet is a compact dyed 2 ply twill. It is a heavier cloth than the finer Elite twill fabrics. The warp (vertical) and weft (horizontal) threads are constructed in a way that creates diagonal parallel ribs. The threads are pulled tightly to create a tighter and more compact weave. These fabrics are more wrinkle resistant than plain weaves and are also more durable. It is a medium-heavy cloth making it very easy to iron.

'Pompei' 
Pompei is often a heavier cloth than Poplin. The warp (vertical) thread has two fine yarns paired together. The weft (horizontal) thread has one heavier, softly spun fill yarn, which gives the fabric a very subtle basket weave look. It is yarn dyed 2 ply pinpont weave and is of a medium weight. It requires standard ironing effort.

'Principal'
Principal is a group of fabrics mainly comprising of White Textured Designs in 80s 2 ply. This texture, be it a Herringbone, raised check etc, make the material relatively light in weight and more wrinkle resistant. Principal fabrics requires standard ironing effort.

'Principe'
Prinicipe is a light weight poplin fabric. Poplin is one of the most common weaving constructions for shirting fabric. It is a 2 ply durable plain weave made by weaving one weft (horizontal) yarn over and under each warp (vertical) yarn. Principe fabrics require standard ironing effort.

'Ramses'
The Ramses poplin is 2 ply 100s and is of premium quality. It is tightly woven and durable and made using a rib variation of the plain weave which creates a slight ridge effect. It is a medium weight. Ramses fabrics require standard ironing effort.

'Saia'
Saia is a compact 100/2 ply superfine twill stretch. The warp (vertical) and weft (horizontal) threads are constructed in a way that creates diagonal parallel ribs. The threads are pulled very tightly to create a compact weave. The Saia almost appears flat as if a poplin and has a modern sharp look with comfort for day or night. It is light in weight and requires standard ironing effort.
